Frquently Asked Questions

What’s with the name, the “secrecy”?

Let’s start with the elephant in the room! When we first started promoting, we had a number of these questions. One even asked if we were part of a “human trafficking ring”. We get it, in 2024 you can NEVER be too careful!

Our small area is not exactly known for being the most “open minded” when it comes to certain things.  I am a photographer, I run an existing photography studio out of an office in Alexandria. When I initially made a post on my personal Facebook page even mentioning the idea of “boudoir”, I had a few people immediately jump on my post and begin to judge and make comments, I believe I even lost a few possible job opportunities from it! So our idea here is to keep things not so much “secretive”, but “obscure” and “discreet” as possible! Because let’s be honest, in CENLA people LOVE to talk, gossip, and sadly even judge others!

This is where the name comes in, it is for marketing purposes only, and any actual dealings with us will be with our actual photography business, with our usual insurance, standard guidelines & existing contracts in place.

Is there an age requirement?

Yes! Due to the risqué nature of boudoir, you have to be 18 years of age or older.

No exceptions!  If you look youger than 18, we will have to ask for your state issued identification.
(A requirement from both our lawyers and insurance company.)

do you do couples and/or men?

Yes! We have no problems with couples or even doing a men’s ‘dudedoir’ session.

And yes, this includes same sex couples.

We do however, have to draw the line with simulated and/or full blown pornography though! (per US law 18 U.S. Code § 2257)

What should I wear?

You’re in luck! Again, this is an area we can go over during your consultation. We recommend something you absolutely feel comfortable and your sexy self in! But when in doubt, we also have a downloadable guide we will email you with your pre-session info packet, which will include some ideas on what to wear, and where to buy your own goodies.

(Hint: Amazon is ahhh-mazing for lingerie!)

What if I don't know how to pose?

Don’t you worry about that part of it! Trust us! We will coach you through the different poses and expressions.

What if I hate my arms, stomach, and/or butt?

Look, we ALL have certain things about ourselves we find… “less-than-flattering”.  Again, trust us, and trust the process!  During your consultation, and again on the day of the session, we will certainly go over these “problem-for-you” areas. There will be plenty of poses, lighting, and other tricks to “obscure” areas you may not find so “picturesque”.

Can I bring someone with me?

You are more than welcome to bring a friend or family member along that you would feel most comfortable doing something such as this with. Unless this is a couples boudoir session, we highly advise against bringing a significant other though, as they tend to add undue tension for both parties.  And absolutely no children under 18.

Will there be alcohol Involved?

You are welcome to sip on a glass of wine or a mimosa while you’re in hair & makeup, BUT, we will not be responsible for your behavior and actions after the session. You’re an adult, I trust you to act like it.

That said – if you drink more than you should and begin to get belligerent, we will have no choice but to terminate the session and you will not receive a refund.  But we can offer a reschedule pending an additional fee.

What about music?

If you’d like to listen to something in particular, let us know when you arrive and we’ll certainly attempt to make those accommodations.

What about privacy?

The vast majority of our work will take place indoors in our studio. We only book evenings and weekends at our studio, so it’s just you hanging with us. Being we do co-lease the space, there is a small chance others may be in the common areas during this time. But it is extremely rare, and this is why why recommend you bring a robe so you can comfortably change in the ladies room and walk to our studio/office.  Alternatively, we can leave the studio, close the door and allow you to change in there. The choice is yours.

We sometimes host limited opportunities for outdoor sessions. Just let us know if this is something you’re interested in and we’ll be happy to discuss it. Other options do include renting out temporary locales such as AirBNBs. These allow us to “mix it up” occasionally with a different set.

As for the produced images – that is completely up to you! We absolutely adore it if you grant us permission to share your images but we totally understand if you can’t or wish to keep them private.  We can also blur faces and most distinguishing marks. Regarless, we will have you sign off on a release at the end of your session that outlines what images, if any, can be shared.

What is process?

Step 1 (Inquiry): The standard process begins with you submitting a form here on the website under “Get Started”.

Step 2 (Initial consult): We will then reach out as soon as possible via your “Preferred method of contact” to get as much info as possible about your specific desires.

Step 3 (Optional In-person consult): We will then find a time to schedule an in-person consult. This is optional, but we find it best to make sure we vibe well together. It’s just easier to get to know someone in person. We will usually meet up at our studio, a coffee shop or some other place and just go over again your specific needs and requirements, recomendations on wardrobe, what to expect, ect. Go over options for payments, contracts, ect. Go over any possible dates you would like to book.

Step 4 (Retainer & Booking): When you are ready, we will email you the contracts to be electronically signed and invoices for the session retainer. As soon as that is paid we will officially “book” your date and time slot, and send over your pre-session packet.

Step 5 (Pre-session): You will receive your pre-session packet, we highly recommend you read it in it’s entirety to make sure the entire session goes smoothly. It will include everything from skin care, nail care, do’s and don’ts and much more for the weeks leading up to your session.

Step 6 (Session day!!): When you arrive at your session, we will sit down and have another chat before we begin, just walking you through the session itself. Remember this day is all about you! So you will not feel rushed! (unless this is a mini-session of course) When you are comfortable we can begin to get ready for your session, wardrobe, hair, make-up, ect. When that is done, obviously the camera would come out and we will begin. And then the magic happens!

Step 8 (Post session consult): Depending on time, we may have you run and grab something to eat while we work on a few quick edits.  Or we may schedule another day for a post session consultation (in person or over the phone) where we show you the produced images, and have you select which ones you would like to purchase, as well as go over your options and pricing for album, prints and other items you may wish to purchase.

Step 9 (Paid in full & Delivery): Once the items are paid in full, or per our other arrangements, we will place your order. Once your item arrives we will arrange pick up or delivery. Some items we can have shipped to your home.

Step 10 (Prepare for your next session!): Because you will probably want another session!  😉

Is there anything I should do before my session?

Yes, there will be some recommended preparations to take before your session. We will send you a pre-session packet after you book with as much info as possible.
